I had thought for the longest time that the line went:

only to find out that rather it goes:
"Rings and strings / what use have I for these things?"
I sort of like my mondegreen version better, although obviously the actual lyrics suit the meaning of the song better.
Thank you for teaching me the word "mondegreen!" Yeah, I've always thought "Hold me closer, Tony Danza" was a far superior lyric. ;)
